12 Apr 2020 7:27:56 am | For many of us Easter is a time of faithful reflection, and for others it is not, while some see it as not part of their faiths, but an enjoyable family tradition.
Whatever your observation of Easter, let this one sit in your memories as a time of triumph. We did not let some organism a billionth our size defeat us. We still hold our families dear, and close. We will all have hope, be it in our faith in God, as you may see HIM/HER/IT to be, or that inner faith in ourselves, our friends, our loved ones.
Every cloud has a silver lining. So, in that noble saying, we see good that is coming from the time of trial. Many of us are learning to be families again, rather than hiding in our rooms, stuck to the laptop, or playing PlayStation. We are coming out of our rooms to play boardgames with family, enjoy a meal at the dining table for the first times in months or even years. We see gas prices lower than in the last decade and a half. For some places in the world, where a breath of fresh air usually comes from a smoggy sky, a true breath of fresh air is met far less pollution than we have ever known.
Join me, fellow pirates! While not forgetting to keep our hands on the wheel and steer our ships true, join me in embracing the silver linings.
